In the previous post, I mentioned unexpected expenses and
one I must share.
A couple of weeks ago, one of our pups became very sick.
She’d stopped eating, was laying around, started getting sick everywhere and
eventually, began begging to go outside only to lay down under the bushes. We
got her into the vet’s and thought it was maybe a blockage of some sort.
Turns out she had a kidney infection and though the doctor
tried to get her better, by the 2nd day, little Lily had to be put
down. We were and are still very upset by this, and her brother seems alright,
but he does lay around a lot outside in her spots.
She was an adorable little Beagle who was too smart for her
own good at times. She was a very hyper dog who loved running around our yard
and sniffing out everything on walks
around the neighborhood. We had saved them together from a local shelter and
only enjoyed 2 years with her. But after the abused life we were told they
lived before us, hopefully she was happy to spend the end of her life with us.
If you can see the video, Lily's the smallest. And she comes close at the end. Baxter is the middle.
(The Basset Hound is my sister's.)
Update: The brother, Baxter, is being a little droopy today
and starting to show the same signs Lily was in the beginning. I’ve been
worried the last 2 weeks that he may have the same thing, but being twice her
size, is taking longer to affect him. If he’s not better by tomorrow, we’re not
waiting – he’s going to the vet. L

| No, she's not sick. This was her favorite spot all Summer. |
